Terms of use
The rules of the road for using is-it.ai. Short, plain-English, and the version we actually enforce.
Last updated June 6, 2026.
Who can use is-it.ai
You must be at least 13 years old (16 in the EEA, UK, or wherever local law sets a higher minimum) and capable of forming a binding agreement under your local law. By creating an account you confirm you meet these requirements.
What is-it.ai is, and is not
is-it.ai is a community platform for debating whether content looks AI-generated, human-made, or somewhere in between. Crowd verdicts and verified labels reflect the best information available at the time and are not legal, journalistic, forensic, or expert determinations.
You should not rely on a verdict to make a legal, financial, hiring, dating, or safety-critical decision. The platform is informational and entertainment. The categories, labels, and confidence scores reflect community judgment, not a regulated authority.
Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Submit, vote, or comment on content that targets a private individual with the intent to harass, defame, or dox them.
- Coordinate vote brigading, sock-puppet voting, or any other inauthentic behavior intended to manipulate consensus or trust scores. We detect coordinated voting via velocity and weighting heuristics; flagged accounts can be paused or removed without notice.
- Use automated tools to scrape, mirror, or rebuild the site without written permission. Using public RSS, API, or share endpoints in their intended way is fine.
- Upload or post content that infringes someone else’s copyright, trademark, or privacy rights, or that depicts illegal activity, child sexual abuse material, or non-consensual intimate imagery.
- Misrepresent yourself as another person or organization. Parody is fine; impersonation isn’t.
Content you post
You keep ownership of anything you submit. By posting it on is-it.ai you grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, display, transcode, share, and link to your content for the purpose of running the platform — including in feeds, search results, share cards, and analytics aggregates. The license ends when you delete the content (subject to backup retention and the rights of users who interacted with it).
Do not submit content you do not have the right to share. We comply with the DMCA and equivalent local laws. Email support@is-it.ai for takedown requests.
Reputation and accounts
Your accuracy score, streaks, badges, and trust score are tied to the account, not the email. Accounts are not transferable. We reserve the right to reset scores, recall badges, or remove leaderboard placement when we identify abuse, brigading, or accidental data corruption.
Moderation
We may remove content, restrict accounts, or apply velocity flags when we believe these terms have been violated, when content is reported by other users, or when we have a good-faith reason to protect the platform or its users. We try to be transparent about enforcement actions, but we do not commit to a specific notice process for serious or repeated violations.
No warranty
is-it.ai is provided “as is.” We do not warrant that verdicts are accurate, that the site will be uninterrupted, or that any specific content will remain available. Use the platform with appropriate skepticism — especially when ground truth is marked unknown.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, is-it.ai and its operators are not liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the site, including but not limited to decisions you made in reliance on a community verdict. Our aggregate liability is limited to the greater of USD 100 or the amount you have paid us in the past twelve months (currently zero, since the platform is free).
Changes to these terms
When we update these terms in a way that meaningfully changes your rights or obligations, we will email registered users and update the “Last updated” date. Material changes take effect 14 days after notice. If you keep using the site after that, you accept the new terms.
