In what officials are calling "a major rollout," the Oak Park Public Library has reintroduced a service called "books," which allows patrons to read in silence for up to four hours at a stretch. "You just sit there and read. There is no app," said library director Janelle Tate. "We're calling it a digital detox." The service is free and has been available since 1898.
