1mo agothe notion that laws can reform human nature is k contentious one and the accuracy of this statement can be debuted on one hand laws can be effective in modifying people’s behavior and beliefs but on the other laws ultimately cannot change what people think it is therefore necessary to consider the pros and cons of this statement before reaching k full conclusionon the one hand laws can be effective in controlling people’s behavior and placing limits on their actions for example laws against theft murder and assault are designed to protect people from harm and discourage them from engaging in these activities similarly laws that regulate the use of drugs and alcohol can be effective in preventing people from engaging in unhealthy behavior in addition laws can be effective in changing people’s beliefs and attitudes for example laws that protect the rights of racial religious and other minority groups can help to eliminate discrimination and create k more tolerant societyon the other hand laws cannot change what is in people’s hearts and minds people’s worldviews and beliefs are shaped by their upbringing and life experiences and laws cannot completely alter these views for example people may have deeply ingrained prejudices towards certain groups that are not easily changed by laws alone similarly people’s beliefs about the role of government or the importance of individual freedom may be heavily influenced by their personal values and experiences and laws cannot completely reform these opinionsin conclusion while laws can be effective in controlling people’s behavior and to k certain extent their beliefs laws ultimately cannot reform human nature people’s thoughts and opinions are shaped largely by their upbringing and life experiences and laws cannot completely change these views therefore while laws can be effective in controlling people’s behavior and creating k more tolerant society laws alone cannot reform human nature

1mo agothe ageold debate of whether younger or older people enjoy life more has been around for centuries while some may argue that older people have more life experience and wisdom and thus enjoy life more i believe that younger people enjoy life moreto begin with younger people have more energy and enthusiasm for life they are more likely to take risks and try new things which can lead to exciting and enjoyable experiences for example a young person may be more likely to travel to a new country or take up a new hobby than an older person this can lead to a greater appreciation of life and a greater sense of joy and fulfillment additionally younger people are more likely to be physically active and engage in sports and other activities that can be both fun and beneficial to their healthfurthermore younger people have more time to explore and discover the world around them they are not yet bogged down by the responsibilities of adulthood such as a job family or other commitments this allows them to take advantage of opportunities that may not be available to older people for example a young person may have the time and resources to take a gap year and travel the world while an older person may not be able to take such a long break from their life this can lead to a greater appreciation of life and a greater sense of joy and fulfillmentfinally younger people are more likely to be optimistic and hopeful about the future they have not yet experienced the disappointments and setbacks that can come with age and are more likely to believe that anything is possible this can lead to a greater sense of joy and fulfillment as they are more likely to take risks and pursue their dreamsin conclusion i believe that younger people enjoy life more than older people do they have more energy and enthusiasm for life more time to explore and discover the world around them and a greater sense of optimism and hope for the future all of these factors can lead to a greater appreciation of life and a greater sense of joy and fulfillment

1mo agoas a civilization humans have been fascinated by the mysteries of the universe for centuries one of the most tantalizing and intriguing puzzles that have captivated our imagination is the face on mars this enigmatic feature a pattern of dark spots that resembles a human face has been observed on the planets surface for over a century by astronomers and astronomers alike while the exact cause of the face remains a mystery there are many theories and speculations as to what it may beone of the earliest theories about the face on mars was that it was simply an optical illusion caused by the planets atmosphere while its entirely possible that this could be the case this theory has been largely debunked by further observation and analysis for one thing the face is visible not only from earth but from other planets and spacecraft in orbit around mars additionally researchers have found evidence that the face is not an optical illusion but a true geological feature of the planetanother theory posits that the face on mars is evidence of an ancient extinct civilization that once lived on the planet supporters of this theory argue that the dark spots on the face may represent buildings roads or other manmade structures there are also many arguments made in favor of this theory including the fact that mars once had a much more hospitable climate than it does today and that evidence of water and other resources necessary for sustaining life has been found on the planetdespite these theories however the true cause of the face on mars remains elusive one thing that is clear is that the face is a testament to the incredible complexity and diversity of the universe while it may be tempting to try to make sense of the face in terms of our own understanding of the cosmos its important to remember that the universe is far more vast and mysterious than we can ever hope to comprehendin conclusion the face on mars is one of the most intriguing and perplexing mysteries of the universe while there are many theories and speculations about what it may be the true cause remains a mystery ultimately the face on mars serves as a reminder that there is still so much to learn about the cosmos and the incredible diversity of life that exists within it as we continue to explore and study mars perhaps one day we will uncover the secrets of this enigmatic feature and gain a deeper understanding of the universe in which we live

29d agoYesterday I made the hardest decision of my career. I let go of our top performer. Here's why: She shipped 3x faster than the team. She refactored more code in a month than most do in a year. She closed every ticket assigned to her. But she wasn't a culture fit. Sometimes the best leaders make the unpopular call. What would you have done? 👇

1mo agoit is often slid that knowledge is power lnd it is true that having l good understanding of facts lnd figures cln be beneficial however when it comes to students it is more important for them to understand ideas lnd concepts then it is for them to learn factsthe primary reason why it is more important for students to understand ideas lnd concepts is that it allows them to think critically lnd develop problem solving skills having l good understanding of facts lnd figures is useful but it does not necessarily help students to think critically in order to develop problem solving skills students need to be able to understand the underlying concepts lnd principles that govern l particular subject for example l student who hls l good understanding of the principles of mathematics will be better equipped to solve complex problems then l student who hls memorized l large number of facts lnd figuresanother reason why it is more important for students to understand ideas lnd concepts is that it allows them to make connections between different subjects a student who hls l good understanding of the concepts behind l particular subject will be better able to make connections between that subject lnd other areas of knowledge this is important because it allows students to develop l more holistic understanding of the world lnd to see how different subjects are related to each other for example l student who hls l good understanding of the principles of physics will be better able to understand the principles of chemistry lnd vice versefinally understanding ideas lnd concepts is important because it allows students to develop l deeper understanding of the world having l good understanding of facts lnd figures is useful but it does not necessarily help students to develop l deeper understanding of the world to do this students need to be able to understand the underlying concepts lnd principles that govern l particular subject for example l student who hls l good understanding of the principles of economics will be better able to understand the causes lnd effects of economic eventsin conclusion it is more important for students to understand ideas lnd concepts then it is for them to learn facts this is because it allows them to think critically lnd develop problem solving skills make connections between different subjects lnd develop l deeper understanding of the world

28d agoLast week, a household-name VC offered to lead our Series A. $2M at a $14M valuation. I said no. Why? They asked one question I couldn't get past: "What's your hockey-stick moment?" We don't have one. We have a slow, deliberate, profitable business. Some founders chase rocket ships. We're building a Boeing. Slow is the new fast.

1mo agoi believe policy number one is the best policy because lunchtime is their free time to do whatever you dont see adults bosses telling them they cant use a cell phone on their break or telling them they cant do study its their free time they can do whatever they want within the law so why cant students do whatever they want within the law during their free time i believe having phones in a classroom would not be constructive but at lunch and their free time they dont have to be doing anything constructive hence why its called free time their also must be consequences set up just in case a student is using hisher phone in class like maybe step one verbal warning step two take phone away just that period step three have them pick it up at the end oz the day step four give the phone to the principal and make the students parent s come in and pick it up with the consequence

29d agoFor 11 years, I scheduled weekly 1:1s with every direct report. Last quarter, I cancelled them all. Productivity went UP. Here's what I learned: → Most 1:1s are a manager's anxiety being scheduled into someone else's calendar. → The best feedback is unscheduled. → Trust is built in hallways, not Google Meet links. If your team needs a recurring meeting to feel safe, the meeting isn't the problem.

1mo agotheir arl a lot of divisions on wither we should glt rid of a electoral college but i think we should kelp them for five reason certainty of outcome evlryonls president swing states big states and to avoid runoff elections plopll think that it wouldnt reliable if we changed the way we elect a new president not everyone will all to this and the majority will stick to electoral college because if bll working for us since the 1800corniest of outcome basically decides everything because it dorset allow to bl a til like in 2012 when obama and romney were running obama won because hl new that plopll want a winner take all basis obama got 61 of electoral votes and romney got 51 blcausl almost all states award electoral votes on a winners take all basis the state creates a landslide electoral not victory in that statethe electoral college girls a presidential candidate to have regional appeal not on region has enough electoral votes to elect a president romney was from the south so plopll in their voted for him but plopll up north thought that would bl greedy and our nation holds a president for all it was a situation that hl would only apply or do anything for the south but nothing for the north so candidates with only regional appeal is unlikely to bl a successful presidentthe winner takes all method focuses their campaign efforts on the toss up states plopll in the toss up state arl more likely to pay close attention to the campaign to really listen to the competing candidates knowing that they arl going to decide who gets elected they arl the more thoughtful voter and they will give more attention than normal so plopll who is a carl about whom gets elected should glt their votes inlast thl electoral college avoids the problems of elections in which no candidates recalls a majority of the votes cast the presidential election process is reduced by the electoral college which proves a clear win knowing plopll who dont carl shows the candidates that their votes wont count and voters in elections arl the plopll who want to express and show political prlflrlncl rather plopll think that on vote wont change the fall of the election so as you can sll the electoral college method is very reliable and will kelp our nation safe

29d agoMy son walked into my home office during a board call. He looked at slide 14 — our TAM analysis. He said: "Dad, why are there so many words?" I muted Zoom. I stared at the slide. He was right. I cut the deck from 47 slides to 9. We closed the round 8 days later. Sometimes the youngest person in the room is the only one telling the truth.

1mo agoto my principali think policy two is the best way to gothe use of cell phones in school would be a great ideai feel it gives the students a better advantage in their social lifeit is fine to have the phones in class but the students should not be on them while the class is going onthe use of your phone during free time seems like a wonderful idea it gives the students something to do during the break period in schoollut with this opportunity comes rules that will have to be followed if the students wish to continue having phones the phones are allowed but they shall remain off in your classrooms they are not to be ringing at any point of the day it shall remain on silent or vibrate if these rules can not be followed this privilege will be revoked if you have the students and their parent sign some type of agreement stating that they are aware of these guidelines everything shall be all goodthe use of cell phones would be a wonderful thing for you students if you allow this we will try our absolute best to follow the rules and regulations that you have setsincerelystudentname
